We went to Barbara's and John's (great old friends from Prague) for lunch on Wednesday. They now live in Bishop's Stortford, a skip from Stansted airport, or more notably for some since J & B have recently returned from a trip to South Africa and Zambia, the birthplace of Cecil Rhodes. Another old friend from Prague, Isabelle Louis, who is back in her hometown of Brussels via Kabul, was visiting B & J. The plan was for her to come back with us and see a bit of Lowestoft during her whirlwind trip to the UK, which included the ballet, a concert and a friend in Reading.

Here are B and I enjoying the glorious weather we had last week. Two things to point out - the digger = Gregor in the vicinity, and Barbara's arm. She's recently had her hand operated on so her arm was in a sling and she had strict instructions not to use it. Naturally John has been diligently seeing to it that she does just that, since the quicker it mends, the sooner he's relieved of the cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing....

In the circumstances, jokes about women and deckchairs do not apply!
