Africa Adventure

Just a couple of miles down the road from us is a lovely wildlife park-cum-zoo for which we have season tickets. It is set in acres of grounds and, apart from the animals, is a great place to take the boys when we get a bit "beached out" and need a touch of verdure in our lives. To simplify things somewhat, all the animals originate from Africa.

As usual, a good go on the swings before we visit the animals. The little train is packed during holidays so we avoided it this time, but otherwise it's an efficient way of covering the entire area and still keeping all your calories intact.

Yes, the Yellow Mongooses (Mongeese?) reminded us that Spring was in the air!

The Addaxes were also a bit frisky, which is probably a good thing since they are critically endanged in their native Northwest Africa. They are desert animals really, normally don't need to drink and even have specially adapted hooves for sand....

One of Gregor's favourite attractions - the poo chart! Unfortunately for those of you who can zoom in, he is covering the water buffalo and rhino specimens.
