Old colleagues

In keeping with tradition we met up with Jana and Alena for Thai food. Ivana couldn't make it, but I hope to see her next time - and then even for an Indian lunch. Here is Jana, looking younger than ever, and me trying to restrain an Alastair about to start a 'molly meltdown', as we call it.

Unfortunately, our old venue at the back of Borek Sipek's glass gallery has ended its great buffet lunch so we opted for Lemon Leaf, near Alena and Jana's work. The food was not as good as Borek's but the company more than made up for it, and it was lovely to see the girls!

PS: (April 2010) Jana, Alena and Ivana nezapomente, ze bydlime u more a prostor je, tak prijedte!!

Zuzana

That week we also managed to catch up with Zuzana, previously seen on this blog at our 90th birthday party last year. Here were the boys getting some necessary sustenance before.....

......the traditional pillow fight!!

aka 'pillow fight lady'!!

We had had plans to stay at Zuzana's cottage for a few days, but when her mother-in-law developed shingles we decided it was safer to meet in Prague, since our boys haven't had chickenpox and it seems to be a dangerous combination.

It was lovely just to stroll and talk and watch the boys run around.

Proper holiday mode. Also for these leaf blowers Kinska zahrada. They certainly weren't overstretching themselves!

Alastair was in heaven, getting his regular fixes of new vehicles and machines.

We took Zuzana to the cafe there and she agreed it was a very pleasant spot and would take her daughter Adela and her two daughters there.

Here Gregor was trying to draw a chemical factory with potions exploding.

A (far too) long discussion about whether Gregor could cool off in the fountain. In the end we said no, it was dirty but he could paddle in one further down, not quite so close to the museum!

We found a little playground in the corner of the park. I was amazed to see these two (quite big) boys just amusing themselves at the chalkboard. I couldn't imagine this in Britain.

Unbeknown to Gregor, Zuzana buried her precious rock crystal which he just happened to dig up.

Here he is making a wish with his special treasure. A magical day.
